end of qoute..
There you go, army days heh... Days that you once hated most and could nv haf guessed that you actually miss it someday... Days when stress wasn't about university quizes and exams but on how to avoid the "big shots" and out of any potential trouble... Days when you have to babysit 50 new dumbass and teach them some discipline...
Reading ah kow's article sort of made me reflect back on my army days. Though army wasted my 2 yrs of prime teenage years, it actually taught me to be rather mature and independent.. Most of my recruits then were older than me, and yet I had to be so much more mentally matured than them... All I had were just a few more months of training than them.. They come to you with girlfriend, family, frens, watsoever problems and you gotta be there and help them man... Juz cant go like "hey, why dont u go crying to your mama. Ur platoon sergeant not very free you know..."
You haf to be some1 they look up to and some1 they really like and aspire to be... Slack as I am..Lolz... I guessed I was still rather well liked by my recruits and they even tried so hard to read my mood...
Im still living alone though... Far far away home, all by myself... No car, but with university stress... Thats rather sucky... Was talking to my bro some time ago and he told me abt the COE prices dropping... Will this help me in my future career? How will the market be now and in 5 yrs time?
Its always been striking me if the money my parents invested on me for abroad studies is well worth it... So wat if I got all As and get into the Dean's list here... (Thats quite tough though..) Does that mean I will do extremely well in my future career... In reality no, just that you have a headstart... Sometimes you think why you study so hard when pple who quit sch and sell chicken rice can be millionairs. Now that Im in university, do I have a career plan, making sure that what I study is well worth the money, time and brain cells...
The thing that I can fall back on is that graduating here, I can get a job here from C$5000 onwards. But that isnt the purpose of my studies here.... What knowledge do I need to source and take with me, to dominate the Singapore market and eventually the Asia market in my field... Studying the right course here might be the path to it... But this is juz the beginning... Haf you guys tot abt it or juz studying for the sake of getting a degree and hope that this 21 yrs of studying may worth something....
Lots of guys here in my universities noe so much more abt cars than me... Since cars are cheap here, they can easily get 1 and they will start playing around with it... Juz like in Singapore, lots of kids know how to assemble their own computers... The guys, juz 17 yrs old with their new license are already modifying their cars... They tune the engines, do up the accesories and stuff... These are stuffs that few Singaporeans other than the mechanics can do... I guess thats why they are in the automotive engineering course with me... I hope that in 4 yrs time, I can be like them happily tuning my own car...
